The Victoria and Albert Museum London also known as the V&A, is the world’s largest museum of decorative arts and design covering a collection of over 4.5 million objects. Founded in 1852 it’s named after Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. It’s located in an area that has become known as “Albertopolis” in the Brompton district of the Royal Borough of Kesington and Chelsea. The Victoria and Albert Museum is sponsored by the Departament for culture, Media and Sport. The admission to the museum is free but some exhibitions and events may carry a separate charge.
The Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A) collection spans 5000 years of art from different cultures from ancient times to our days.
Since 2001 the museum has newer galleries, garden shop and visitor facilities
